Ante up, Cameron (you gutless tosser)

Standard Mail fare here; foreign criminals, failed asylum-seekers and benefit tourists using the Human Rights Act to thwart deportation orders... but then we knew that, didn't we, Cameron?

Back in those halcyon days of opposition, the Tories vowed to chuck out the hated Criminal's Charter and replace it with a 'British Bill of Rights', but that was just a gimmick, of course. I guess we may be lucky they have abandoned the idea of a new Bill of Rights. With this crop of political hacks, it would probably have fastened as many chains upon us as those it removed, but there's no reason why the HRA cannot or shouldn't be consigned to the dustbin of legislative history - and 3,200 plus reasons why it should. Certainly Cam can blame his straightened circumstances, what with having to go into coalition and all that, but there's no reason to think he'd do it even with a majority. Never mind. Damian Green is going to hold a consultation. So that's alright then.
